Has a passion for working with young children (6 months to 2 years)

Enjoys daily nature walks and being outdoors most of the day

Wants to dig, find bugs, identify flowers, climb trees and do yoga in the sunshine

Enjoys teaching children outdoors

Loves creating new experiences and areas in the environment

Wants to develop children’s life skills

Thinks outside the box and has lots of ideas to share

Is passionate about children’s wellbeing

Is fun, creative and thoughtful and most importantly enjoys laughing with the team.

Under 2’s Practitioner - About the role

We have a baby room extension due to be open in June 2025. You will be part of an established baby room team, and have the privilege of moving into a brand new extended area for our babies.

You will play an inegral role in settling new babies, in collaborating with a new team and enjoy daily nature walks, as well as the rest of out 2 acre woodland nursery.

The role:

Have your own autonomy on where you want to take your career and develop young children

Think differently about childcare, take yourself on a different journey

A key person has an average of 6 children (depending on the time of year)

Responsible for contributing to planning, team meetings, leading nature walks and sharing your knowledge of nature, insects, and life skills

Developing your knowledge to enhance every child’s experience at Abbotswood

Minimum requirements:

Level 3, 4, 5, higher wage paid to level 6 and early years teachers

Foundation of safeguarding knowledge and experience

Enhanced DBS and update service (Initial DBS paid for by us)

Ideally must drive / have own transport. Due to our countryside location, we are not near any public transport

Salary terms:

Our salaries are calculated on a 37-hour week over 4 days. Other nursery salaries are calculated over 5 full days or 45 hours. Salaries are paid hourly. Your hourly wage will always be agreed and discussed with you as part of the interview process. We pride ourselves on paying our staff their value and are committed to offering continuous pay increases for up-skilling and annual pay increases. Subject to your age and experience, the offered wage for this role may be below this wage.
